I’m Jon, I am a freelance pixel artist, I’ve been making art for indie games for 20 years now, plus a few music videos and TV shows now. I love dinosaurs, and frequently draw monsters and fantasy settings.

An evening scene in a US outer suburb area. Two children - a boy and a girl - face off against a massive robot, which is currently wielding an uprooted tree. A dark cavern scene featuring a large purple manticore. The creature is posed with its flank towards the viewer, but is ready to attack at any moment. Bones are strewn about the floor of its lair. A rocky coastline, where two people stand before a talking parrot. The parrot simply says “No.” At the two, implying he is denying them something (likely access further up the coast). A hairy monster glares menacingly at the two from the right hand side.

Scuttlebone is the closest example we have so far of a playable boss. Too bad we can't bring the ship to the Expanding Void in order to cheese the OP enemies.
