Some UPS and FedEx planes are grounded. What does that mean for holiday shipping?

O tempora, o mores! When I was a kid, I was fascinated by DIY empirical confirmations of scientific facts. Went to visit the local lab pointing lasers toward moon retroreflectors. Did the Eratosthenes experiment when visiting my grandparents on the other side of France. Good times. #ReadBooks

Btw read this post literally. Statement is nonpartisan and applies to all situations where political demagogy and special interests conspire to kill #multimodality. 🙄 #mobility
My takeaway of this headline is that a multimodal nation is a resilient nation. We deserve good air, rail, and ground #transportation. When a mode or system is down, you can rely on others to get you where you need. And also it gives more choice to users/consumers. 🚲🚗🚋🚅🚁✈️ #mobility #resilience
As many as 20% of flights could be canceled if the government shutdown continues, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said this week.

#Aviation saves lives. The lack of aviation facility can prevent lifesaving medevac to bring patients to 🏥 on time. That's one of the reasons why a well-thought aviation system serving all communities including the most remote ones is so important. Glad I live in North Carolina! 🚁 #verticalflight

Fun fact: The fear of the number 13 is called "triskaidekaphobia" (lol). 😱 Additional numbers may also be avoided in other countries due to local superstitions. 💀 Anyway... I'm an engineer. Within ℕ, after 12 comes 13. 🤷‍♂️ #ScientiaPotentiaEst

What about this runner? Is he still running? He might reach Patagonia pretty soon... 🫤 #shutdown
He’s running an extra mile for each day the federal government is shutdown, blending a little politics and history along the way.

This is cool. My one gripe, he needs more vids outside the federal core. DC is so much more than the Mall.

#running #washingtondc
He is running his way through the shutdown. Will it outlast him?
Each day the government shutdown continues, Rob Perez adds a mile to his run.

Flying blind: The remarkable journey of the California Clipper, Part 2
What Pan Am were asking of Ford, his crew and his aircraft was to do something that no commercial flying boat had ever done before: complete a circumnavigation of the world.
