My mom randomly rented this for me when I was home sick from school and I had no one to talk about it with for decades, because no one else had seen it. I eventually made my friend Betsy watch it with me for my podcast.
It’s been 5 years since I last popped by @certifiedforgot.bsky.social, but @donatobomb.bsky.social @monagle.bsky.social made it feel like 5 mins. Grateful these guys let me gab about my gateway horror/fever dream The Peanut Butter Solution. Real movie btw!! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

When the MCU eventually gets around to cosmic X-men stuff I'm going to be so unnecessarily critical of how they portray Shiar hair feathers in live action.

A live action, multi-film adaptation of Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind comic. As true to the source as possible. Money is no object. We'll shut down the defense dept if needed.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

This whole state department pushing Paramount to make Rush Hour 4 thing is just too funny for me to consider the terrible connotations. Disgraced sex pest director. Franchise WAY beyond its prime. Two stars both past their primes & all too happy to run propaganda for authoritative regimes...

NEW REVIEW!! Super obscure and fantastically fun giallo A Hyena in the Safe on Blu-ray from Celluloid Dreams (@celluloid-dreams.bsky.social)
A Hyena in the Safe Blu-ray Review
It’s always exciting when an obscure giallo is rediscovered on video, but it’s especially exciting when someone finds a film produced before Dario Argento’s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (Italian:...

I think any director looking to remake or reboot The Exorcist, Halloween, or Texas Chainsaw Massacre should have to remake Gnaw: Food of the Gods 2 first to prove their worth. And, y’know, to amuse me.

I enjoy ranking movies and I love Star Wars, but I think that I'm too sincere for my Star Wars ranking to be in anyway interesting to anyone but myself.

Last updated this in 2024 and since then 4 movies have either hit (remastered) BD/4K or are about to. Pretty good year for that so far. letterboxd.com/gabepowers/l...
Remastered Blu-ray/4K UHD Wishlist
UPDATED FOR 2024! Some of these are available on BD, but have subpar image quality (Ravenous and Companeros, for example) or are out of print. A few look okay on BD, but I'd rather have them in 4K. I ...

Every interrogating cop in every true crime doc ever: We didn't have anything on the guy, but he didn't seem sad enough, so we redirected all of our resources to finding him guilty.

Final title card: ...the case remains unsolved 30 years later.

I'm playing Baldur's Gate with a friend and it has cured me of my allergy to turn-based combat. I'm gonna have to replay it pretty soon, because my friend is very story focused and I'm conent letting him drive. I think maybe we missed our chance to cure Karlach. I hope not.
