there's an lto-9 drive on ebay right now for $2850. given the state of serverpartdeals, 11 lto-9 tapes plus that drive are about as expensive as an equal number of 18tb hdds. this sucks so bad lmao.
oh no. lto-6 tapes are under $20 per terabyte. the hdd market is so fucked up that tape backups may actually be cost effective.
