Was annoyingly back too late to join in on the Corman fun*, but I'll be FIRST IN LINE FOR THIS, which contains an all time great Angry Tom scene.

HA HA HA HA, MURDERS *slaps knee* HA HA HA, THE KILLING WILL NEVER STOP

Absolutely bizarre end to a completely bizarre film. Another completely @cta84.bsky.social choice and... I had fun revisiting it, oddly.

@vickyblue21.bsky.social up a week on Monday for a dark horse choice!

This film often gets bandied about as "Worst British Film Ever" and I disagree with that. I mean, I'm not saying it's great, but there's any number of shitty 70s sex comedies and rubbish Guy Ritchie knock offs and dull kitchen sink drama and so on.

You can always do worse.

And now the film's taken a bizarre turn into... I dunno, posho Death Wish?

Of course, noted food critic Michael Winner somehow had to tie that into this, his final EPIC and make a whole giant scene of it.

Man, I had genuinely forgotten just how tonally weird and off this film is. Everything about it, the music, the soft TV look, Chris Rea. Just WEIRD.

I'm not going to say Winner never made a good film, but what ones he DID feel rather like flukes.

Lot of great actors in this and... Man, it doesn't deserve them. Excluding late 90s John Cleese of course. At this point, he was pretty much a signifier that what you were about to watch was... Well, probably not great.

Lol, GIANT COCK UP and also the movie froze. Er. (it comes back in at about 12:50.

This film has a bizarre feel to it, like it's a rough cut that somehow accidentally got sent out as the finished film.

Guys nothing personal but if you rub your a.i. generated anti-ICE, anti-Trump memes in my face I gotta unfollow and mute you and also you’re dead to me.

It’s the sewage that fascism both shits and eats, it’s like blowing smoke in my face to show me how evil the tobacco companies are.

Only saw Road Games a couple of years ago when I was on a huge Ozsploitation binge, really, really good, super tense one that I regret not getting to sooner.
it's been a weird week and I feel that this chaotic little lineup reflects that pretty well

I think probably worth pointing out that as far as James Horner's BBTS music goes, this is like... I dunno, only one of many. That and his score for Humanoids From the Deep (ugly monster rape shitfest, never watch) got recycled a LOT.
NEXT: Roger Corman produced WIZARDS OF THE LOST KINGDOM, a very silly sword and sorcery runaround so lazy it reuses James Horner's themes from Battle Beyond The Stars. Join #thefilmcrowd this Monday from 8pm.

Oh. I was expecting her to full send it off a cliff instead she dies by... A slightly bumpy ride down a hill. Huh.

I'll give it this, Soledad Miranda gave FULL HIGH BEAM INTENSITY. Everything else... Eh. Is what it is. Still enjoyed all the talk, thanks all!
