Ever been in a meeting that fucking sucks? Rhetorical question.

Unfortunately, getting people to what you want requires that you tell them about it — and that's a meeting. Trying to get rid of meetings simply creates a dysfunctional work environment. The only fix is to design the meetings right.
This meeting could have been a picnic
Well-designed meetings are just as important to our work as well-designed artifacts.

Write code to make being human easier. Rip code out if it makes being human harder. Write code to make caring for each other easier. Rip it out if it makes caring for each other harder.

Downside of evening shift working elections: your dreams when you finally do get to sleep are just never ending piles of ballots. Still happy I did it tho!

Tonight was my first time working as an election official for my local municipality and I had a great time. Highly recommend volunteering to help out for your local election, they almost always need your help!

Heartbroken to hear what’s happening this week at Teen Vogue. The level of journalism that came out of that publication was always impressive, and I am sad to see it gutted.

The A11y Project is at risk of going over our 1TB bandwidth limit on @netlify.com and being automatically charged $55/100gb in bonus bandwidth to keep it online.

I think we all know the cause and it's depressing. I've asked Netlify to just let the site go down when the limit is hit.

The ceiling light/fan I bought two years ago stopped working entirely this week after the fan died two weeks ago.
Blog your “everything is broken” story to play along:

(Yes I followed Chris around to all the social sites to quote this. This may be something that’s also slightly broken.

Me or the social networks? Yes.)

Went to my local Micheals tonight, and the mourning for Joann Fabrics really hit me.

Like my local Joann was fine (I was spoiled by the one near my parents), but it was better than this.

I'm (finally) working on new articles/talks.

As a part of that, I'd like to hire a new artist for every article to create a unique hero image for each piece

Do you all have any resources/sites to find artists for these purposes these days?

I'd also like to hire those most in need of work.
