Battle of Hoth is probably one of my favorite games I picked up this weekend. Nice war game style game, but done in 30 minutes. Ton of scenarios, and you can add leader cards for additional gameplay.

Also went to a fun workshop yesterday about doing miniature painting in a comic book style. Definitely felt a little outside my comfort zone drawing the way I traditionally do in 2D in 3D (and without an undo button) but I had fun!

It’s been a long day of travel, but I am officially ready to relax for the evening and enjoy a PAX filled with board games tomorrow.

I was out of purple dye for my last minute home dye job before a trip, so I am rocking the teal for PAX Unplugged. Ready for an excellent weekend of board games.

I painted my living room purple this weekend and only a few days later I managed to get most of the board games back on the shelf (still have - bunch of rpg books and art references books to put back up on another similar set of shelves)

Friend gave me Spirit City: Lofi Sessions for my birthday this year, and I'm finally sitting down to use it while doing website work.

Pulling in what I did in Codepen last night into my collection of Vue components in Storybook and trying to make it more reusable / responsive. Cue me attempting to to remember super simple trigonometry I haven't had to think about in ... way too long. Now to add a tail!!

Having fun doing some experiments with speech bubbles for the home page of my website refresh. I am proud of how the balloon tails do adjust to face my avatar in the different screen sizes. Now to make this thing a reusable component and less "Sarah throws CSS at Codepen and sees what sticks"

Tonight I played Dungeons and Dragons! And to keep my hands busy because that helps with focus, I worked on art for my website revamp. Starting to hit the point with this character model it’s becoming easier to redraw in different poses and still look like the same person.

So one of my 2025 goals was to teach myself how to sew my own clothing, and with three months to spare, I sewed my first top! I am pretty pleased with how it came out!

September has turned into “make all the visual content for website that isn’t specifically design system stuff” month (was originally going to be August, but I needed some non screen time), so cue drawing all the illustrations during my lunch breaks. Here is one for the footer!

Finally getting to working on the illustrations for my website (it’s a bit bare at the moment). It’s been a while since I drew regularly so you can definitely see where I struggled to remember how to use my tools. 😆

Playing around with the A11y features in Chromatic for my design system I'm building for my website refresh, and honestly, feeling pretty good about these stats. Most issues were just either test data, or I forgot to update a variable when I reworked colors last weekend.

Everything seems to be working together color wise nicely now, and that has helped me take a jump forward in getting stuff done. (Nothing like realizing the colors aren't right and feeling unmotivated to fix them that grounds a project to a halt, because you don't want to work on it if not pretty)
