We discussed this very theme at the French Forum organised at the University of Bristol with the support of @frenchinstituteuk.bsky.social + French embassy. It was great to hear from DfE representatives on this topic. There is a clear appetite from school teachers to organise trips and exchanges.
Editorial in the Times calls for abolishing passport requirements for school trips to improve language learning. (It would also help revitalise a niche but very strong UK sector which catered to school visits for English language learning)
