All I will say about 'efficiency' savings, apart from them being complete BS.

When you've got a politician basically saying we'd like to do more restrictions but the constitution won't let us, maybe it's a massive overreach
When i joined the Labour Party (around 2010) I was unaware of the internal factional politics.
By the time I left Labour (2020) I had learned just how vile the Labour Right were:
Smug, scheming, arrogant, entitled, vicious and devoid of any principles other than the acquisition of Power.
