It turns out that Mandelson had been more of a threat to the National Interest than had been previously realised.

Maybe when someone has resigned from Government for dodgy finances, you should not bring them back, ever.

Totally agree. A large section of the media is whipping up the "replace Starmer" narrative to destabilise the government and bring it down before it has real chance to effect the postive change. The last thing the hostile media wants is a successful Labour government so they're undermining it.

There you have it, the Board of Peace is nothing more than a corrupt real estate deal dressed up as diplomacy with the sole purpose of enriching Trump and his favoured cronies.
Trump makes concluding remarks. He says Gaza ceasefire push began because he is “a real estate person at heart, and it’s all about location, and I said, ‘look at this location, on the sea, look at this beautiful piece of property’”.

Screw the Board of "Peace". Host the UN in Geneva, away from US interference. Strengthen the UN.

Two very interesting reddit comments desribing how Carney communicates about Trump, and perhaps outfoxes Fox News.

Are Trump's Tariffs on European countries, to coerce Europe into crying territory, an act of war?

Reminder that in the UK an incoming radical, populist government would have immediate access to immense, unchecked executive power.

And the current government is doing nothing to protect us from that.
NEW

The UK constitution is even more vulnerable than the US constitution

In the face of an illiberal radical assault, what has happened politically in America could easily happen in the UK

It is time to Make Social Media Lawful Again. Elon Musk has a 'pick and mix' approach to which laws apply to him. But government + regulators risk mirroring that - until they recognise X's routine protection of unlawful racist abuse breaches its legal duties too

People try to ascribe motives, strategy and logic to Trump but it's not acknowledged nearly enough that he's simply a spectacularly stupid man who happens to be extremely rich and entitled with it and therefore has gained a lot of power.

He's a very clear example of the Dunning Kruger effect.
Q: The premier of Greenland said today, 'We prefer to stay with Denmark.'

TRUMP: Who said that?

Q: The premier of Greenland

TRUMP: Well, that's their problem. I disagree with him. I don't know who he is. Don't know anything about him. But that's gonna be a big problem for him.

Regarding Twitter/Grok, banning twitter from the UK would be counterproductive, as it would feed into VPNs. Instead we should look at daily fines of a small percent of revenue, until the law is complied with.

Also, users who used the tool to generate CSAM should be prosecuted.
