Had to go on fb, saw an acquaintance who was very much c0vid-positive just a few weeks ago (she proudly shared pics of her multiple antigen tests) and she was already doing intense yoga at some studio without a mask today wtf 🤯

Incredible thread on ALT text addressing many specific questions I've seen people ask! And this is written by a person who actually relies on it - that's so important when looking for resources on this. Always ask the people who actually need it.
I have low vision and I rely on alt text and image descriptions to provide context about images on platforms like BlueSky. If you don’t know how to write #AltText yet, I have several guides on my website that can show you how— take the #AltTextChallenge! veroniiiica.com/how-to-write... (1/10)

Support a culture of accessibility by using alt text.

If you’re unfamiliar, learn basics via this thread. First, enable “require alt text” in your settings so you can’t forget.

If you’re unable, use Alt4Me to request help. (nofeed)

If you have fave alt text threads, share in the replies! #AltTalk

Friends, there is ENDLESS research and it all points to covid is very bad to get repeatedly. That isn’t up for debate. It isn’t like oh maybe it’s bad, guess we’ll see. No, it’s FOR SURE bad. Until we have clean air and more effective vaccines/treatments, PLEASE MASK UP.

One of fascism's main tactics is to physically and mentally exhaust you. To flood the zone with outrageous bullshit, to make you bite on a dozen pump-fakes — so that when the real shot comes, you're too worn out to react.

We need to pace ourselves. It's only been a week. Alert fatigue is dangerous

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

If you stopped wearing a mask, it’s a great time to start again. We need to be in solidarity with immunocompromised and disabled folks, plus your own health is important too! COVID can cause so much damage to every system in your body. It’s ok to change your mind when you learn new info! 💕

Truly, five years in, what a privilege to be able to ignore an ongoing pandemic.

Won't wear a mask. Won't give up vapes. Won't listen to disabled people. Won't stop buying and upgrading tech. Won't boycott. Won't make accessible educational materials. Won't add alt text. Won't stop using AI. Ok wtaf are you willing to do for revolution & better worlds then.

Imagine not masking during ongoing pandemic(s)! Air pollution! State surveillance! Fascism! Wtf good luck, you're really gonna need it. Hope your repeated exposures don't hit you like a f-ing truck randomly.

I mask to acknowledge that I don't and cannot live in isolation. We share the air. We share this planet. Masking up means knowing how permeable our bodies are. That our bodies and the land and our planet are intertwined in their well-being.

Wearing a mask is always an act of solidarity. A way of protecting yourself and others from airborne viruses and toxic chemicals. An act of subverting surveillance. Masking is a key to a livable present and life-giving futures.

Don’t look away. Don’t be silent. This suffering cannot be accepted.

So many folks incorrectly believe covid boosters reduce odds of covid infection.

They do not. They reduce risk of serious acute illness once infected. They’re like seatbelts: they don’t reduce crashes but reduce bad outcomes when it happens.

So yes, get boosted, but keep masking, testing, etc ❤️😷

Not to be controversial, but people are talking about letting their bodies naturally fight off a potentially deadly and/or disabling virus, and my body is struggling to heal a slightly irritated hangnail without medical intervention, so excuse me if I don't trust "God's greatest design" to save me.

If you make a rude comment about someone in one of the photos I post, like calling a woman fat or ugly, I’ll definitely block you. I know obnoxious behavior is the norm throughout most of the internet but that doesn’t mean I have to put up with it. 💋

People need to understand: Both X and Meta are trying to be an all-in-one social app similar to WeChat in China. Monopolies are dangerous and we are already seeing information-restricting moves like X removing headlines and Threads prohibiting searches on words like Covid and vaccines.
