Okay to be fair to me though I am actively fighting a UTI this week and am on very strong antibiotics and I wasn't doing that last time, I might be fighting with less than a full deck so

I am going to go to life drawing again tonight and I'm MORE nervous this time than I was last time, why is my brain like this. Brain stop being like this! I'm even more prepared than last time! Brain stop!!!

Watching Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model, because believe it or not, I was a huge fan back in the day. And I am just...zero surprised at everything getting exposed. I wish it wasn't surprising, but the times really were different back then, but still. Ugh.

Urgent Care Dr today walked in saying - as though we were in the middle of a conversation when I've never met him before - 'well you see when it walks on four legs and it quacks like a duck... oh dear. Anyway I'm giving you antibiotics.'

This is *before* I was dx'ed 5 seconds later with a UTI.

"AI detectors" are themselves AI, and yet are endlessly trusted by people on here if they say that a newspaper article is AI.

AI detectors are snake oil. None of them reliably works. And UK broadsheet are not yet using AI to write articles. No, that link to the deal you found doesn't prove it.
Just because I keep seeing those "I checked this piece and it's written by AI" - this is an old article of mine, before AI was available. So could we not?

I keep seeing authors getting duped by AI users pretending to be artists (and then sadly realising it when everyone calls their book AI slop).

These grifters are everywhere and I don't have a solution, but I have a few pointers:

One nice thing is Urgent Care saw me very urgently as soon as they heard 'so I had sepsis in January re: urosepsis and I have UTI symptoms again.'

Also the way the doctor laughed with a kind of 'Ooooh hoo hoo hoo' when the nurse was like 'oh yeah there's leukocytes.'

Definitely another UTI, now we wait to see if also sepsis… :/
February 16, 2026 at 3:45 AM
Screaming because I'm going to urgent care in like an hour and a half "just in case." :/

Fingers crossed it's just another UTI and not actually sepsis this time idk

Rumours that I have started life drawing again for the first time in over like two decades can be confirmed. (There were no rumours. Also this is terrifying I am SO out of practice.)

To anyone that needs clarification, "your best" is what you can accomplish without damage to your physical, mental and emotional health, not what you can accomplish by destroying them

--'oh well why not find alternatives?'

Bitch there will be NO SAFE ALTERNATIVES soon, at this pace and trajectory, and you will not like who your favorite creators will have to share space with if Warren et al get their way.

In terms of what cures are being lost:

- Epstein-Barr virus is perhaps the major trigger for multiple sclerosis
- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

The thing about Gen AI that makes me feel less threatened as an author is simply that I don't like the homogenised generic-ness of Gen AI writing.

A lot of people however, can no longer tell the difference. The Heated Rivalry fandom on AO3 is a good example of this.

At some point, SURELY the meteorologists in Perth have to realise that there's a really high chance that storms angling in from the North are most likely to get trapped/locked behind the Darling Scarp, right?

It's like they forget that ridge every single time they make a prediction. x.x

I hate when I say one thing like 'Underline the Red will be a monthly story' only to realise that it might actually work better in rotation with Underline the Silver. It's partly because the scope of Red is so huge, it's many storylines, many years, it's hard to just bust out lots of chapters?

Hm
