Been working on a little prototype over the last month inspired by cave exploration in Minecraft. In it, you descend into an abandoned space colony to explore. You have relays, which when connected relay both power and oxygen. Your own oxygen is limited, but is restored when you are near a relay.

Silhouettes

On the rooftop a woman, probably one of the owner of the town, is talking with workers, she hold a contract in one hand and a lamp in the other. The mood of the painting is blueish and atmospheric. The foreground are made of leaves and branches. A painting of a canyon in the fog, some remains of graves are here and there, a goddess statue is standing in the background. Trees are twisted and almost leafless. A mother and his child are standing in the middleground, she is holding a lamp in her hand. In the foreground some lost kids are anxious and wonder why she is there. One of them is trying to approach her. The mood is sad and monochromatic, a grey, except a little touch of warm orange coming from the mother lamp.

A wide view of the planet Mars fills the frame, shown as a curved, rust-colored world against black space. The bottom edge fades into darkness, marking the planet’s night side, while the upper portion is brightly lit by sunlight. Near the right side are three large, round volcanic mountains of the Tharsis region, each with a wide circular base and a darker central caldera, resembling shallow craters pressed into the surface. North of these volcanoes, stretching almost vertically across the upper right half of the planet, lies Noctis Labyrinthus and Valles Marineris: an immense system of deep canyons and fractured terrain that appears as pale, branching scars and cracks, partly softened by hazy, cloud-like atmospheric features. If we can only have art from people who "aren't in it for the money" that means we can only have art from privileged middle-class dilettantes. Making art being a viable career is responsible for nearly all worthwhile art, and if it's not a viable career any more we will get drastically less of it.
