It turns out the IP holder was a blind Japanese masseuse who had no idea she owned it. There were multiple fatalities.

It's our modern version of Star Wars' Sith. People forget that the Sith largely weren't born psychopaths, they had to actively work to sever empathy and embrace cruelty in exchange for power, even though it made them ugly SOBs in the process.
"In the race to become a Poster, an Internet funnyman, many people have realized that the quickest way to achieve that goal is to discard empathy and find easy targets to mock. The Internet rewards negativity so intensely that there is often no push back to this method; just trails of broken bodies.

What I love most about KPop Demon Hunters is that it shows how incredible art can be as the boundaries between countries, languages and cultures decrease. A hundred years ago, people couldn't even conceive a Canadian writer making a film based on Korean pop culture that becomes a hit in the USA.
