Confused why Trump, MAGA et al are convinced they can understand & address issues (real or imagined) better than other people?

Read about the Dunning-Kruger effect... Because i.e maybe they don't know that Melanin + the Tyndall effect ≠ a capability deficit...

Statement by Governor Phil Murphy on the Arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka I am outraged by the unjust arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka earlier this afternoon outside of Delaney Hall in Newark. Over the past few months, Mayor Baraka, as well as advocates, faith leaders, and members of our Congressional delegation, have protested the opening of a private immigration detention center in the city of Newark. Four years ago, I was proud to sign a law banning private immigration detention centers in New Jersey. And just last week. my Administration was leading the fight to defend that law before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Mayor Baraka is an exemplary public servant who has always stood up for our most Vulnerək. neighbors. am calling for his immediate release by federal law enforcement.

This is Canada - not the U.S. - and freedom of expression has always had limits because we’re reasonable Canadians:

However, the rights and freedoms in the Charter are not absolute. They can be limited to protect other rights or important national values. For example, freedom of expression may be limited by laws against hate propaganda or child pornography. Section 1 of the Charter says that Charter rights can be limited by law so long as those limits can be shown to be reasonable in a free and democratic society.
