I'm excited to announce that my lab is moving to the Department of Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University in January next year! Can't wait to join amazing new colleagues and be able to run outside year round to work with lizards on campus and sea urchins at the FAU Marine Lab!

I will say this about the rat-eating-bat-gate:

It feels wrong to me every time I see a r strategist eating a K strategist

I lost track here.
How are we on eating eggs again?
The description in @nature.com of a nearly adult skeleton of Nanotyrannus refutes idea that these tiny tyrants were all juvenile tyrannosauruses and will turn some palaeontologists into nervous rex. [grabs popcorn] www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Whatever happened to these monkeys clearly serves as a metaphor for the current stage of capitalism we are living in
A crash on a Mississippi highway gave a group of lab monkeys a taste of freedom.

But some were killed, police said, after the driver said the monkeys were infected and dangerous. Tulane University said they had not been exposed to any infectious agents. https://wapo.st/4ntQvqw

These last two weeks, I had former undergrad students come up to me to say how much they liked my class.

I was raised catholic. I am not mentally ready for this kind of positive validation

I want to design a thermal physiology lab for my Mammalogy course. The simplest way would be a bunch of math, but I wonder if anyone has developed a more interactive lab for that

more often than not, this is how I feel about AI
Man, I'm sorry, but reading all these AI generated essays from students, it just sucks all the joy out of everything. It's exhausting, makes you into a weird paranoid cop, grinds you down, wastes your time, makes you feel like shit about everything.

Fuck this shit technology and all its enablers.
