This is superb. Ian McKellen delivers a blistering pro-immigration monologue written by Shakespeare, that makes you want to punch the air with exhilaration. Wow, wow, wow.

An absolute must-watch. (Starts at 20:10 but the entire interview is a joy.) youtu.be/2l2RqzVG4ag

"The Sisko" episode of Starfleet Academy had me crying buckets because ofc it would. Tawny Newsome is a genius and the twists at the end broke me.

She absolutely just became the highlight of SFA and I hope we see her more. She nailed this.

I hope I get to meet her someday and add her to my wall.

No Screen caps but if you are inclined, whomever you are:
Try searching for the suburb of Constantia, and marvel at why a rental agreement to rent a house near the local @picknpay.bsky.social ended up in the Epstein Files.

Dodgiest shit ever.

Librarian searching through THOSE files:
Last one - promise.
Stellenbosch.

Bit of a saga about getting docs delivered from Stellenbosch University, and then a diatribe about....
Well you'll see...

Librarian searching through THOSE files:
Just suburbs mind you - Claremont, Cape Town

This is not redacted at all.
February 3, 2026 at 12:37 PM
Of course Camps Bay would be mentioned in the Epstein Files.

FYI Camps Bay is one of the wealthiest beachfront suburbs in #CapeTown.

Also, you stick a searchable database in front of a librarian, and they're going to start searching.

Final words from Faculty Advisors for the Master Cohort - reading between the lines:
"Obey us.
The Edits are all.
Kiss sleep good-bye.
MY Deadlines like Samuel L. Jackson, are not f-cked with.
We are...Friendly(See above)
That is all.
Go now, and cry into your keyboards, we can taste your tears."

It's now Question time for the new cohort of Masters Students.
The returning Mini D students are hunkering in their feelings as the new students ask questions with wide-eyed pep and vigor.

My feelings need a kilogram of egg fried rice and dumplings. Or breyani.

"How many words per chapter?" Someone asks with wide-eyed innocence of Bambi's mother.

All the words. In every possible permutations like dangling swords above your head
All the letters. Pointed and sharpened into words
All the punctuation. Ready to fire.
...
February 2, 2026 at 4:16 PM
They're talking about dates of submission for Mini D's and I'm thinking of writing in the form under the pertinent section:

"Timeline for completion: The heat death of the Sun, or however long it takes me to gain the will to live as I read through all the edits. Whichever comes first. "

Having a moment as I listen to the Faculty advisors talk about the registration process for the new academic year with the new Master Cohort.

Meanwhile the edits mock me from the margins

Still not registered yet...
To re-register or not to re-register, that is the question; for whether it is nobler to let my Mini-dissertation suffer the slings and arrows of many many many many edits by my faculty advisor, or to take up a sea of not-much trouble, and say fuck-it, who needs a Masters degree.
