On arrival in the US, a French scientist was turned away, then sent back to Europe the next day, for expressing “a personal opinion on the policies pursued by the Trump administration”, after his phone and computer were searched. His opinion was deemed to be terrorism.

Last year I was quoted in about 30 media articles, and I received a grand total of $0 for this.

We do it because it’s important, not because we get paid.

Welp this is horrifying. These researchers quantified the "stratigraphy" of plastic waste used in Common Coot nests. Using expiration dates, they found one nest that contained 635 (!!!) pieces of trash, including plastic dating back to 1991.
