I've had to break it to a less online friend that 2 of the 5 main UK parties want to abolish/massively restrict ILR, while Labour merely want to double the eligibility period. She has ILR.

@stephenkb.bsky.social how many voters do you think have a numerical idea of how many immigrants they "want"? Most voters want "less" migration but still want all the benefits of migration, which is a level of imprecision that doesn't translate well into numbers

Polish has a special word for orange-red: RUDY. We use it to describe kania ruda (red kite), rudy lis (fox), rudy rydz (red pine mushroom), rudzik (robin), and folks with red hair. It's distinct from orange (pomarańczowy) and red (czerwony), perhaps closest to russet.
