Next up for our service chief introductions is Dr. Raja Narayanan. Dr. Narayanan is our retina chief and joined Flaum earlier this year. He has more than 20 years of experience in both clinical and surgical retina care, including pioneering advanced surgical techniques.

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. Diabetes can affect more than just your blood sugar. It can also damage blood vessels in your eyes, which can cause diabetic retinopathy and other diseases. Blood sugar control and an annual eye exam are the best prevention methods.

This weekend the Toast to Your Health wine auction returns. The auction helps support causes in the local community. Last year's event helped raise over two million dollars that is being used to help our outreach programs and our never-ending mission to help find cures for rare diseases.

NEW from Alex Levin: This study of children under 8 years old found COVID-19 did not cause retinal bleeding within 28 days after infection. Retinal hemorrhage appears to be very unlikely secondary to COVID-19.
