It turns out that local elected officials *also* authorized a five million dollar Camp Mystic expansion project six years ago that saw more structures built in the floodway, while none that were already in the floodway were relocated! See this new @nytimes.com story:

That is incorrect. Cell phones, smart watches, tablets etc. are not allowed at Camp Mystic. Plus, the area has spotty cell service at best. The ONLY warning system that could have saved lives is a siren, but FEMA, Abbott, & Republican legislators all refused to assist Kerr County in paying for one.

The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 called for dismantling the NOAA, which provides warnings of natural disasters, such as the deadly floods in Texas. The irony is that Heritage wanted these cuts because it’s angry that NOAA helps prove the reality of climate change--the thing causing floods.

Hvorfor fungerer ikke hjelpeapparat rundt de mest utsatte ungdommene våre? Hvorfor tar hjelpeapparatet ferie i juli? Hvorfor hjalp ingen 15-åringen før han satte seg på en buss til Enebakk med lettantennelig væske?

This is 8-year-old Oleh Antonov. russia killed him yesterday near the village of Odnorobivka in the Kharkiv region.
He was returning home with his mother, father, and 4-year-old brother when a russian kamikaze drone struck their car. Oleh died instantly.

Nei, Høyre. 1.klassingene trenger ikke en time til med matte eller norsk. De trenger én time mer til fysisk aktivitet, eller FYSAK som de kaller det. De trenger å løpe, leke, klatre og slenge seg. Små barn lærer ofte mer når de får bevege seg. Så jeg sier nei til Høyresiden absurde forslag.
