If only we had more brave politicians willing to say what’s right. We lived without ICE, its original function could be carried out by other agencies. All it is now is a terrorist group of thugs. ABOLISH ICE
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

A very out-of-season visitor to my feeder yesterday in Portland! Western Tanager, should be vacationing in Mexico right now. Reported to eBird, no other recent sightings in the state. 🪶 @thebirdsnest.bsky.social

Soooo relieved our union passed a new contract this week! Strike averted, and a few decent perks on the way for us. That’s been hanging over my head for months.

We were not expecting to see this looking over the fence at us this morning. No wild turkeys here, typically, this is a domestic turkey my neighbors apparently have now. My kid was the first one to see it and was flipping out. It was so funny 😂

ICE is not a vital government agency. They were created in 2003, and we already had border and immigration enforcement. That’s why ABOLISH ICE is the correct message.

My first Yellow-rumped Warbler since summer! Apparently these were way down from last year on our local Christmas bird counts. Hope they’re doing ok and just confused by the weather. 🪶 @thebirdsnest.bsky.social

Jesus Christ, two people shot by “immigration officers” in the parking lot of the hospital near my house. Where my kid’s pediatrician is. I am shaking with rage.

Enjoying my extended time off with few plans! Doing all the things I can’t usually unwind enough to enjoy — reading a physical book, doing a puzzle. It’s really nice.

I hope Chuck Schumer is up on this stage knowingly watching the end of his cowardly incompetent careerism. I hope he sees the wave of enthusiasm for a politics that is ambitious and hopeful over his status quo politics of telling people what cannot be accomplished.

I’m done! But the caulking gun broke! Borrowing from a neighbor to finish in the morning.
I’ve been removing caulk from my shower this week, and it’s really tight in there and requires lots of kneeling/squatting. I’m actually nauseated. I am officially too old for this.
