🚨 I 🖤ed this #cdrama, which features a love story between a strong woman & her biz competitor thrust into a script together. The leads moved from comedic to serious scenes well. This meta story was amusing & enjoyable. Hope some of you will give this gem a try. #cdramas #minidrama #TheLoveDuel #过招

Wow, I know I am not the only one who is blown away by the fight scenes in #BloodRiver. Episode 1 alone was impressive! High production value with excellent cgi putting forth fight scenes with fantastic choreography as well as fascinating weapons and functionality. Well, that was a joy to watch!

Btw: #WangXuan plays a small. support character in the #cdrama #BloodRiver, so if you're a fan keep an eye out for him in a small role: 1 site says he's the Water Official, while MDL says he is Shui Guan [Soul Reapers' Hall]. I've seen positive reactions overall to it so far, so hope it's good.😁

Anyway, I hope #WangXuan gets a great director and some long-form offerings, so he can grow more as an actor.

The more time one gets to prepare & play a character, the more one can become the character. He's playing so many super short-form characters that it must be hard to really craft them. There may also be expectations for how he will play them: sexy alpha, yet lovesick ceo is who they hire him to be.
#WangXuan did well with longer more fleshed out roles like in #TheLoveDuel, #GrabYourLove, & #DoubleLife. I hope he'll get offered more #MiniCdrama roles & a full-length #cdrama to sink his teeth into. The #verticalcdramas don't allow him to spread his wings as an actor, because they are so quick.

100% and also real character growth happens. Not like tacked lightly on the top or quickly shown in one scene, but explored in depth throughout with all types of characters: the good, the bad, the sides. Typically, the characters aren't all good or bad; they are rather human.

I love kdramas and yes, but also, one of the things I love is that I am going to get a complete story arc over a season. I'm not going to get part of a story and then it gets canceled because it didn't make infinity money in the first week.
I have no empirical proof, but I feel this is an aspect of why so many Americans keep digging into kdramas. They're tonally expansive with charismatic people solving some problems week-to-week and usually falling in love along the way. S. Korea has hard picked up what we dropped.
