Weak, weak, weak. Looking back on electoral failure with the knowledge that you did what was fiscally right & necessary is very different from looking back with the knowledge that you bottled it.
Thanks to months of pitch rolling, the Labour government has now effectively told anyone paying attention that income tax rises are necessary, but they’re not going to do them because they’re politically weak. Let’s see how that plays!

It’s a super power.
Kemi Badenoch’s ability to plant political time bombs that blow up in the face of the party she leads is truly unparalleled.

What’s particularly impressive here is she could have found this out herself before raising the profile of this issue at PMQs.

Nothing on the BBC Radio news this morning. Nothing I could find on their website. This is an MP from the party whose lead in the opinion polls normally ensures them wall-to-wall coverage. She spouts racist nonsense for which even she feels obliged to apologise. What on earth are they playing at?

My apologies to Katie Lam, who should be front & centre here…
Off the top of my head, there have been four egregious examples of weapons grade public racism in the last couple of weeks - Jenrick; the Express hack; Captain Concrete & the Reform woman. The way they are treated by employers, punters & wider media, will directly influence how much more we see.

And then allowed two completely unaffordable tax cuts as a desperate election ploy, screwing up the public finances while leaving the overall tax burden still at a high.

It was Nigel, elected by less than 30% in European Parliament that made such a noise before Boris, being the pompous oaf, took the torch.

Farage is to blame!
