Tattoos are a way for white people to appropriate colored skin without fully committing. They have become more normalized over time in tandem with greater social acceptance of people of color.

I've been doing this language exchange with a Japanese international student and she has told me she really struggles to talk to her classmates/ppl in clubs because she thinks her English is bad but tonight she sent me this and ngl i almost cried at my gym 🥹
