SpaceX acquired xAI, which only exists to allow Elon Musk to pay zero dollars for Twitter and zero dollars in taxes, and for the same reason that SpaceX bought a bunch of Cybertrucks, and the same reason that Elon bought Donald Trump the White House:

Because he'll keep doing it until we stop him.

CBP Agents Jesus Ochoa and Raymundo Gutierrez summarily executed Alex Pretti, and the next place I read their names had better be on an indictment.

Once again here to tap the mic and say Texas is a gerrymandered, voter repressed state, not a "red" state. And every one of you celebrating the (significant) win in Tarrant County better not be the same people in my mentions saying to throw the whole South away. There are good people fighting.

If I have to take my daughter to Canada to get the fucking HPV vaccine, I will.

But I think instead, I'll be encouraging my state and local governments to continue to cut off the federal government's ability to have any say in the matter. Permanently.
I am hearing that RFK Jr.’s minions are going to go after HPV vaccines. I’ve got problems with these people and now you’re going to hear about them, first from a personal perspective and then from a professional one.

It all boils down to this: WE HAVE A SAFE VACCINE THAT PREVENTS CANCER.

It is simultaneously true that Kristi Noem is a complicit, puppy-killing Nazi who needs to be ousted from power and prosecuted...and the major reason why the GOP is comfortable throwing her under the bus is b/c she's a woman.

Noem deserves this, and the GOP hates women.
Both true and worth noting.

Legitimately very cool artistic usage of agentic AI.

I don't have a very long list of those, so I love to see em when they pop up.

You can click the ? in the top right of the page to see how they did it.

BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

The Fast and the Furious premiered when I was an actual teenager, but I was still today years old when I first noticed...

During the cop raid scene...
As the edit cuts back and forth to Dom and Letty smoochin...

Well let's just say 2 Fast wasn't the first franchise depiction of motorboating.

Kumail Nanjiani's new hour of standup on Hulu is quite good.

And the joke on a treadmill in my brain this morning is *not* the one that made me keel over laughing for a full minute and required me to pause the special to recover.

This doesn't sound like a real punishment.

I mean, they're taking money from him, fine, but what I'm saying is: This doesn't sound like a punishment that was specifically indicated for any specific offense, and ordered by a military judge.

It sounds like "some shit they're doing b/c they can".
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.

The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Perfect take, no notes. And I included two of these in my Top 10 for their respective years.

Doing a specific thing I enjoy well gets a lot of respect from me.
I have a lot of respect for the Knives Out movies just as an exercise in people making solid B+ level entertainment where everyone seems to be enjoying the experience without it needing it to win Oscar’s or make 3 billion dollars. It’s like going to a good steakhouse.
