Phrased like a threat… because it is.

Just remember the only thing stopping the Cubs from building a team like the Dodgers is that they don’t want to.

GREAT movie (there was also a very hip hetero couple where the guy got visibly uncomfortable when things started getting gay and left shortly thereafter… i love when dudes who wear earrings and a lot of leather are also homophobic.)

In recent months I keep reflecting on James Gray’s brilliant (and largely ignored) ARMAGEDDON TIME, a film about the long, pernicious shadow of Morning in America Reaganism that still feels like defiantly personal filmmaking. It touches the dark, rotting heart of American life that led us here.

on balance THE BRUTALIST is a good movie but it’s also a movie that opens with the image of the Statue of Liberty upside down and doesn’t get any less obvious from there. strange sensation to be craving a devastating pan to be written about a movie i ultimately liked.

Kind of surprised by the mixed reception for QUEER, for me it's clearly one of the best movies to hit American screens this year with a brilliant central performance. and i'm not even much of a Guadagnino guy.

I’ve got this on while I’m cleaning my apartment, watch closely for an absolute feast of iconic 70s, 80s, and 90s sidemen… Jim Keltner! Anton Fig! Al Kooper! Donald "Duck" Dunn!

A nice three-sheet for the newly discovered 1918 John Ford film, THE SCARLET DROP.

Personally I think anyone who lines up for a movie more than two hours early should be tear-gassed.
