The Netflix acquisition still appears smart. Keep in mind that David Zaslav started out as a lawyer.

They have no reason to go for it. Even though it's an attempt to go after shareholders, it doesn't change the previous attempts. Skydance is not attractive from behavior or the lack of liquid funds. Plus, they haven't any idea what to do with Paramount, which they got earlier this year.

One positive way to look at Netflix’s pending acquisition is that they might keep WB all intact.
At the same time, they could grant several filmmakers and showrunners more creative freedom granting maximum potential of long term popularity and goodwill towards originals and IPs.
