Again, it is clear that US wants to end NATO

So, it's time to do it and move to an EU defence system!

Trump’s claims about Nato in Afghanistan ‘disappointing and wrong’, minister says – UK politics live
Care minister Stephen Kinnock criticises US president over claim Nato troops stayed away from frontline in Afghanistan Good morning. Donald Trump enjoys causing offence but the problem with having a reputation for being outrageous and provocative is that, as people get used to your outrages, you have to go further and further to continue to get a response. We are seeing the outcome of that this morning. In his meandering ramble at Davos (a cavalcade of falsehoods, as explained by CNN here), Trump repeated a criticism of Nato he has made before, saying: “What we have gotten out of NATO is nothing, except to protect Europe from the Soviet Union and now Russia.” This was so wrong that even Nigel Farage felt impelled to speak out and say so. We’ve never needed them. We have never really asked anything of them. They’ll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan … and they did, they stayed a little back, a little off the front lines. Many, many British soldiers and many soldiers from other European Nato allies gave their lives in support of American missions, American-led missions in places like Afghanistan and Iraq … I think anybody who seeks to criticise what they have done and the sacrifices that they make is plainly wrong. I think the reaction to President Trump’s comments are very clear from right across the political spectrum, and I think the British public feels very strongly about the need to defend our armed forces and to support them in the incredibly important work that they do in the dangerous and turbulent world in which we live. Trump wanted to show that US is the World superpower

This speech followed by the TACO on Greenland/Iceland just demonstrated to the World that US is a declining country that has lost its compass!
January 22, 2026 at 8:00 AM
So, he is chicken again!
COLLINS: Does it include the US having ownership of Greenland?

TRUMP: It's a long term deal. It's the ultimate long term deal

COLLINS: How long is it?

TRUMP: Infinite. There is no time limit. It's a deal that's forever.

Anyone to stop that craziness in Senate or Congress? This is still normal? Because for the rest of the World, it's worrying and embarrassing!
Trump on NATO: "Until the last few days when I told them about Iceland, they loved me. They called me daddy."

(He means Greenland.)

Trump is now confusing Greenland and Iceland: "They're not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money."

The only way we can understand Trump action is that he wants to end NATO and collaboration with EU

Or, likely, this is just stupidity and dementia...
Trump on NATO:

"The problem with NATO is that we'll be there for them 100% but I'm not sure that they'd be there for us, if we gave them the call".

We did get the call on 9/11. 26 NATO members sent troops to defend the US. Hundreds died doing so. It was the only time Article 5 has been activated.

Australian politics used to be a relatively serious pursuit, with most participants taking their responsibilities seriously. That is no longer so. Mostly now they range from mindlessly corrupted to actively clownish in their behaviour. One thing we don't get anymore, as a result, is good laws.

Scoop: One of the first acts of Australia's new anti-corruption watchdog, NACC, was to carry out $30 million of office fit-outs.

It was only when staff were preparing the agency's first annual report that they realised the project broke laws meant to fight... corruption.
