If there's anything in FFXIV that would motivate me to learn how to write "crimes", it would be something that lets me replace my chocobo companion's model with one of my combat-class retainers. It is still bizarre, to me, that we can't use them for Trust, Duty Support, or just out in the field.

[ The Cieldalaes Archipelago — Island Settlement MW.0512 ] Nahanshe and Margot cuddle on the edge of an enormous hot tub somewhere on her island sanctuary. The tropical sun streams through the leaves of the trees and illuminates the heavy yellow canvas curtains from behind. Steam rises from the pipe supplying fresh water to the tub. Nahanshe is wearing only a pair of green swim trunks barely visible through the water; Margot is in her customary two-piece bathing suit. She has her head on Nahanshe's left shoulder and her left hand on his right shoulder. She is stretching her neck to give him a kiss on the cheek. Margot settles her head down on Nahanshe's shoulder as he sighs contentedly, "It's so refreshing, for people like us always caught up in our responsibilities, to have somewhere we can just be alone, and relax." Margot's eyes open and shift uneasily toward the beach. "I agree," she whispers, "though I've recently had to make a few... changes, to keep it that way." Down on the beach, a sai taisui — a tall geomantic automaton of the Far East carrying an enormous bell — stands next to a tiny mammet. The sai taisui asks his diminutive companion, "I am merely to begin ringing my bell whenever someone arrives?" The mammet responds, in a voice familiar to many a budding goldsmith and alchemist, "☆★ YeS, THaT iS CoRReCT. ★☆"

[ Ul'dah — Emerald Avenue ] Thancred Waters accompanies a young Minfilia Warde down Emerald Avenue, near the place where a runaway goobbue caused the death of her father, Warburton. Minfilia gasps, stops, then looks down at the ground, crossing her arms defensively about herself. Thancred turns toward her, a look of protective concern across his face. He reaches out a comforting hand and offers, "Come, we can turn down Ruby Road and go through the—" Minfilia, though still unable to look up, frowns and interrupts in protest. "No," she snarls, more at herself than at Thancred. "This is absurd. I should bloody well be able to walk down any street I choose. I but need... encouragement." She looks up at Thancred plaintively, and he smiles and produces a lute. After a moment's consideration, he improvises: ♫ O come ye wayward daughter, ♫ Bereft of hearth and home, ♫ Beneath yon gilded gate there lies ♫ A market for the bold. It is a rewording of the anthem of Ala Mhigo, Minfilia's homeland. Minfilia, comforted and perhaps even amused by the gesture, smiles tearfully up at him, and appears ready to continue. They resume walking toward the gate to Sapphire Avenue, as Thancred improvises a second verse: ♫ Raise up your heads and voices, ♫ Let fill your hearts with pride, ♫ Upon the dusty cobbles we ♫ Stand strong and unified.

She is clothed comfortably in a loose neo-tunic and shorts. She is tossing and turning in her sleep, and her face looks distressed as she rolls onto her back. The Echo forces a vision of the past upon her dreams. In it, we see Agrias Oaks, Holy Knight of Ivalice, shouting, "This I swear, here and now, Ser Beoulve: Whether in this life, or in the next, whatever strength of body, or will, or soul is required, I will be there to bring this unholy scourge low, and bring peace to Ivalice." Margot awakes suddenly, startled by the vision. "The Echo..." she whispers to herself. "But... if I'm alone, then..."

All Febhyurary 2026 scripts are now either done or at least scripted up until the "Hang-Out" day, because I simply could not resist. Several of the later ones are scripted as well. I am officially consumed by this activity. Cancel my appointments. No calls. Let me have a month in fantasy land.
My comics scripting spreadsheet on Google Drive. Row groups for the first 12 days of "Febhyurary 2026" are marked as either "done" or "scripted". The scripts themselves are hidden to avoid spoilers.

[ The Cieldalaes Archipelago — Island Settlement MW.0512 ] Margot Weisshexer stands on a beach of her private island sanctuary, gazing eastward at the rising sun. She is wearing naught but a blue two-piece swimsuit. Her red hair shines radiantly in the morning light. Margot lifts her face toward the sun, her eyes closed, feeling the warm rays on her skin. A look of deep contentment washes over her features. "Another beautiful dawn breaks on our beloved star," the thinks to herself. "Oh how my heart aches at the warmth and beauty of this place." She opens her eyes and surveys the beach to her left curiously. "It can be quite a relief to indulge in a bit of solitude now and again, I suppose," she muses. "When Tataru said this place would be private, I don't think I fully understood. Naught but myself, the mammets, and the wildlife out here..." Seeing no one to her left, she looks to her right and scans the rest of the beach. "And given that... well... then it seems no one would be the wiser if I quietly explored one of Mariko's more insistent suggestions..." Suddenly shedding her swimsuit, Margot sprints into the shallows of the blue-green lagoon. A too-short time later, Tataru Taru carefully makes her way down to the beach, casting her gaze around the warm sands. "Oh, Margot?" she calls out, "Are you out here somewhere? I'm sorry to drop in unannounced so early in the morning, but the Initiative's monthly reports are due soon, so I thought I'd—" Her breath catches in her throat before she can utter another word, as she has just sighted her quarry (not pictured), very unexpectedly unclothed. Tataru puts her hands to her cheeks and gasps in a disorienting combination of disbelief and embarrassment.

[ The Black Shroud — Hawthorne's Hut ] On a sunny day in the eastern Shroud, a Hearer in customary blue robes and conical hat stands in conversation with two Wood Wailers in the shadow of the aetheryte outside Hawthorne's Hut. Suddenly the Hearer, by the name of Joacin, perceives... something. He raises a hand and says to the Wailers, "I beg your pardon, but I have just heard something... curious, from the Elementals, and must needs investigate. I shall return momentarily." As he traverses the road from Hawthorne's Hut toward the East End, he contemplates the situation. "I have not heard the Elementals try to divert my attention so strongly in some time," he thinks to himself. "The Spire seems intact. Naught seems amiss." Cautiously he approaches the watchtower on the border with Ala Mhigo. "Good day, Wailer," Joacin hails the guard at the base of the tower, "I don't mean to be a bother, but I had the strangest feeling that—" He stops short, stunned, as he sees what the Wood Wailer is holding cradled in his arms — a tiny hyuran infant, swaddled in a white blanket. The Wailer, a young elezen named Maximiloix, seems relieved to see Joacin approaching. "Hearer, we're in a bit of a bother already," he sighs, "but perhaps you can help. We've but recently taken delivery of a very rare package indeed, apparently smuggled over the border from Ala Mhigo. Could we help you take her the rest of the way to the city?"

The Scions of the Seventh Dawn emerge from the Garlean base called "Baelsar's Wall" and onto the fringes of Gyr Abania. From left to right: Krile, Y'shtola, Alphinaud, Treurenbloem, Lyse, and Alisaie. Treurenbloem Rowdottir surveys her surroundings. Just as she did during the mission to retake Castrum Oriens, she has donned the uniform of a Maelstrom fleet captain, the better to represent the interests of the Eorzean Alliance. The scar on her left cheek — a reminder of the start of her long naval hiatus — is as prominent as ever. The main title for "Stormblood" appears over a panorama of the Velodyna River valley, dominated by the giant Garlean penant hanging from a tower high above. Treurenbloem stands in the small encampment on the Ala Mhigan side of Baelsar's Wall. The aetheryte spins slowly in the distance. Alliance troops from various nations mill about.

Minfauxlia Warde went to Ishgard. While walking around the city, she heard tell of a knight who had been executed unjustly. She followed the Temple Knights, and found where they'd dumped the man's corpse. And suddenly... It wasn't a man at all, but a woman, in dark armor, wearing a mask, so that only her eyes were visible. In a familiar voice that she just couldn't place, the knight simply asked, "Can you hear it?" Now here stands Minfauxlia, wearing a chainmail shirt made from darksteel rings and hemmed with red and gold. Her armored leggings are lacquered the color of blood. Upon her face, she wears the Sable Death Mask symbolizing her as the hero who united the "beast tribes". In her hands she holds a curved greatsword, its entire length awash with glowing dark aether. The Warrior of Light has become one with her dark side...

Minfauxlia Warde, dressed in a heavy fur-lined coat and white hooded cap, crosses the Steps of Faith during a blinding blizzard. Minfauxlia Warde, Alphinaud Leveilleur, and Tataru Taru, their winter clothes insufficient in the gale of Ishgard's perpetual winter, stand outside the gates of the great capital city. Minfauxlia, Alphinaud, and Tataru step through the gates into Ishgard. Count Edmont de Fortemps's narration appears as a subtitle: "Through gates long closed, the Warrior of Light and her companions passed, entering at last a city whose history was written in blood." [ Ul'dah — Sultana's Private Chambers ] Minfauxlia Warde sits across an enormous round dining table from the Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo. Nearby, in the Fragrant Chamber, a banquet is in progress, to celebrate Ishgard's successful defense against the Dravanian Horde. The Sultana addresses the Warrior of Light: "You must be curious as to the reason for this private audience. The matter I would discuss, however, will soon make apparent the need for discretion." Nanamo looks gravely across the table. "I intend to abdicate the throne and dissolve the monarchy," she announces. Minfauxlia frowns in disbelief and responds, "I beg your pardon?" Nanamo explains, seriously, "You have seen for yourself the storm of turmoil that howls through our streets. The government fails in its responsibilities, and my subjects suffer the consequences of our incompetence." "But I will see them suffer no longer," the Sultana proclaims. "The victory feast shall provide the stage on which I declare the dissolution of the sultanate." Her expression brightens as she thinks of the future. "'Tis mine intent that the ruling class of our golden city should take its place beside the common man in a fair and equitable republic. No more shall this nation bow to the whims of a privileged few." In the Fragrant Chamber, we see Raubahn standing with the other heads of state who have gathered for the banquet. Nanamo continues, "Yet that which I propose will entail the tearing up of this city's very foundations. And even Raubahn with all his strength and influence will be hard-pressed to keep his footing on such treacherous ground. Thus would I ask you to lend him a steadying hand." Back in her quarters, Nanamo frowns again, regarding Minfauxlia with a critical gaze. "I confess that I make this request with some reservations," she reveals. "I know not how a second Minfilia has come to lead the Scions, nor whether you may be trusted. But circumstances have left me with little choice in the matter. Will you do this thing for me?"
