Came across this Bronski Beat video after a Reddit poster was looking for a similar thing and OMG did they nail 2025 back in 1984. We need to make this our anthem.

“What will you do when the fascists come?”

Lyrics posted in here, YouTube liknk below:
My least favorite genre 🙄🤬
a new genre of photo in the last year is federal agents working for ICE pointing guns directly at photographers

All of this. All of it
"Outrage and betrayal"

YES!!
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

No Dems in Senate should cave without Actual ACA credits extended not just a worthless gop promise to negotiate. Don’t be gullible voters are watching!

A deal without clean ACA is NO DEAL.

I wish the press would have said that
Trump on SNAP: “Our country has to remain very liquid because of problems, catastrophes, wars… We have to remain liquid. We can’t give everything away.”

REMINDER: Trump just have $40 billion away to Argentina.

Psst! Hey, Senate Dems, now would be a great time to demand concessions from GOP leadership.

Don’t end the shutdown unless they fully fund ACA, reverse the shutdown firings, undo some of the DOGE cuts, and have a vote to release the Epstein files.

You have leverage after last night. Use it.
Trump declares that Republicans have lost the shutdown. Absolutely zero reason for Dems to cave at this point

Who else slept better than they have since, oh, July 2024 (after SCOTUS granted immunity for official acts to presidents)?

People fucking hate this guy. They fucking hate ICE. They fucking hate how much power he has. He is at 63% overall disapproval to 37% approval. That's lower than their poll after January 6th. And this poll was done before he started intentionally starving people. I wish our media would reflect this.

Stories like this need to be more understood.

This is more and more looking like the norm and not the exception

File it on behalf of the United States of America.

Oh wait, that’s the DOJ. Never mind
Wait, did they edit an interview? Did they not air every second?

I heard that’s grounds for a multimillion lawsuit
I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.

Please run Barack
Obama: "It's like every day is Halloween, except it's all tricks and no treats. And here's the thing -- it's not as if we did not see some of this coming. I mean, I'll admit it's worse than even I expected, but I did warn y'all. And you know what? Donald Trump warned you too."

Flying again Monday - so excited 🤬
Is it safe to fly in America right now? Definitely not.

⬇️ The denial of miscarriage care because it has a whiff of abortion is unbelievably cruel. These services for pregnant women were routine; now vilified/scrutinized for legality so hospitals just say no. Women should be able to choose abortion or not without taking their lives into their hands.
Today at The Argument we're publishing something very different.

A mother in Georgia wrote to us after her IUD failed. Her email said:

"…if our policies weren’t so illiberal, I very well might have decided to stay pregnant." www.theargumentmag.com/p/an-abortio...
An abortion ban pushed me toward abortion
Is this what the pro-life movement intended?

Good idea
Yup. This morning the hubs and I discussed how some SNAP recipients may not even know funding was cut off until their card is denied at the checkout, and we agreed that if we see that happen, we pay, no questions asked. Even if they’re wearing a Trump hat.

Fascism in plain sight
NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

Good. This is what our troops should be doing, not blowing up people in the ocean

I’m so tired of saying “can he do that?” because congress and the courts aren’t interested in stopping him
Breaking WaPo:

The White House just fired all six members of the Commission of Fine Arts, an independent federal agency that was expected to review some of Trump's construction projects, including his planned arch in Washington. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
White House fires arts commission expected to review Trump construction projects
The moves comes as President Donald Trump pursues efforts to build a White House ballroom and a triumphal arch in Washington.

THIS.

It’s the corporations that need to pay their line workers a fair wage and pay more in taxes.
The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Time to revive this thread, from 2019 Hong Kong: bsky.app/profile/keit...
Hey journos/other latecomers to HK. I'm a former volunteer ambulance officer and current journo (tear gassed twice this week), and today we're going make some Hotel Room isotonic saline.

But first, let's talk about tear gas.
