“Great things start in little rooms” André 3000
lots of snark about Andre 3000's jazz flute era but it's like Herbie Hancock's robot voice lectures: when you've given this much to music you get to do what you want. that's just the rules

I am on the side of supporting the jazz flute era. Outkast earned that spot in the Hall Of Fame and Andre 3000 proved that he can do anything musically that he wants to do.

I actually really like New Blue Sun. But 1) I like jazz and 2) though I didn’t agree with his assessment that he was too old to rap, going from rap legend to flute is just so unique, how could I not give it an earnest shot

"Aretha covered his song and now it's hers" is an acceptable obituary in my opinion.

I wish I knew who said it, but someone said it must have been tough to be a musician in the 60s. You never knew when Aretha was gonna cover your song, and now it's hers; nothing you can do about it.

My band Ekko Astral is releasing our first song in a year — “horseglue” — this Wednesday on @topshelfrecords.com.

It is a deeply personal call for moral courage aimed directly at the beltway media elite.

Share this widely & brace yrselves, this is the hardest song we’ve ever dropped. 📰 🩸

that was legit.

Like if I were in that movie, The Kitchen, and went into the wrong Hell's Kitchen shithole bar in the mid 70's or partying with Serpico. Some of those sounds would have fit - then, or now.

Once again: this is also happening in DC. Still.

It feels like we’ve been forgotten, maybe because there aren’t huge confrontations to run photos of. But our neighbors are still being taken every day. Routine traffic stops are now done by 12+ feds alongside local police.

Please talk about us too.
