New meta-article published by Slater et al. on Social VR. What irks me is how little it tackles actual social lives that ppl (will) lead in VR, focusing instead on the commong categories of collaboration, work, wellbeing, teaching, AI, regulation etc. (1/5)

Polly Verlag is releasing its first book for children, "Pepe und die Draussentiere"!

We are doing a release event in Berlin for it, where I will also do some comic readings. If you know anyone there who might be interested, let them know ;)

Of course, the whole event is kid friendly!

This was my first time in Bremen and at a ZemKi event, was very impressed! Will keep an eye out for future calls and conferences to return eventually ;)

I held a presentation about Social VR there yesterday 🗣️
✨💭 The rows are filled with joyful anticipation for the next keynote and panels.

More information about the conference: zemki.uni-bremen.de/...

To all vrc folks:

For a sociological book that tackles everyday situations/life in VRChat, what cover do you imagine?

What would bring accross your everyday experience inside vrc in a single picture or scene?

Currently collecting some ideas, if you have any, let me know ;)

Just watched One Battle after Another in my local theatre, can highly recommend!

Sean Penn has such an amazing character in that movie haha

Kai Cenat hit a million twitch subs, that is crazy to think about. The format is really mainstream now, with huge production crews and star power behind it.

Sitting in the Mittelbau/Post-Doc Meeting at #DGS2025 right now and my perspectives for sustainable work positions in academia are looking bleak, I gotta admit 🫠

There's a palpable air of defeated cynicism in this room, and I can't fault anyone for it. Not really looking forward to post-doc life 💀

Review times are really taking a toll on me atm... I have so much content I want to get out in the world, but its locked behind closed doors for who knows how much longer😞

Everything is truly coming back every 20 years or so, haha. I thought for sure this was uploaded two decades ago but its just emulating the style. Nearly looks identical to homemade electro dance videos I used to watch when i was like 14 years old 😅

Will reach Durness today, that completes the western highlands!

NC500 still ongoing - don't know if I can do the whole thing but I'll try until I physically cannot move anymore!🦵

Climbed Baelach na Bà today, that one was on my list since I got back into cycling in 2020!

So far the highlands are like a fantasy land, but also definately the hardest tour I ever planned. Day two over, a lot more to come!

flew from japan to vienna yesterday, will break 1000km in night trains tonight 🚘✈️

can't say if sleeping this little is good or bad for jetlag 🥱, never dealt with it before in this capacity, its quite the delirious experience haha

Just checked my phone and it says I walked over 300km in the last 16 days 😅

Japan trip is now over though and my feet can relax for two days as I spend time in planes and trains to meet the VR crew in Amsterdam!

I did it!

Despite some pains at the beginning (cycled completely around first island bc I missed the exit to the bridge, added 25km to the tour 🤣) I completed the tour!

Definately a lifetime experience, although I would still put Brennerpass and the south tirole ascent to the dolomites above it

cycling the shimanami kaido route tomorrow, this has been a cycling dream of mine and its finally happening! Looks like it will stop raining just before I start - Maybe my prayers and offerings at all those shrines paid off!
