Right next door to the Flower Carpet Rose are the Euphorbias and Salvias!
Both are evergreen and are just itching to bloom!

Cutting back the “Flower Carpet” pink rose. It blooms from about June 1- November sometime. It has small flowers in abundance which makes it a good landscape plant, plus it is tough and comes back reliably every year!

This is the next video. It begins just after one walks through the metal gate, going around to the back yard. I took this at the same time so I had yet to begin the winter cleanup. The water feature was still covered with the screen to keep the leaves out.

This the walk from our front driveway around the side of the house to the gate. Guests or in this case our granddaughter use it daily to get to the daylight basement! We have night lighting as well as music.

I plan to post a few short walks through our yard that I took before our trip to Colombia back in the fall. Probably one a day.

Our Iris ungularica ( Algerian Iris ) is beginning to bloom. It is a dependable Winter bloomer here in the PNW! Needs sunshine and good drainage. 🌱

Abies grandis, (the Grand fir) a true fir, with fragrant foliage! This in on my morning walk where I am guilty of hugging it and thanking it and the Divine for allowing it to thrive and stand tall in this forgotten piece of forest in the middle of Tigard!

In my morning walks, I often choose this route down behind a condominium complex, nestled in between Doug firs, Grand firs and Western red cedars. It desperately needs sword ferns and other native perennials and low shrubs. I love living here in the PNW.

It is getting light as I walked this morning! This is the view looking north toward Portland from Tigard.

This mornings walk included a section of path that is new and goes through the woods at the top of our little hill. The city installed it last summer for the school kids and the community. It connects two streets. It was still lit on our walk! Sweet pathway!

Today is a dark cloudy rainy wet sort of day! I am getting myself ready to go out and walk with my Tuesday buddy. So, I felt like enjoying a neighbor’s Iris from last summer! Can you smell its fragrance? It had one of the best Iris floral essence I know!

A 2 hour window where I had the time to seek out the invasive Himalayan Blackberries from the Twality Bioswale! I think that I have dug and cut them all out! Two years of work, 2 hours at a time gets it DONE!

Opuntia cactus and other cactuses can grow here but they must be planted in gravel! You can see the moss growing on this cactus if you look closely! 🤣
