Music and Nature continue to inspire me and to teach me. I "need" to play the piano, to run, to hike and cycle every day.. With many years as an executive in the commercial music industry, and a MBA, I 'get' business. (Business savy ppl ride bikes!)

#A-Haydn-A-Day Day 86: Symphony No. 62

Today is Valentine's Day for us, but for Haydn it's D-Day. Every movement is in D-major, without even a change of mode between major and minor. There's evidence of some hasty recycling of older music, but the result is a D-major delight!

I don't know if degrowth can save the world, but I know that endless growth is destroying it.
I'd rather be on the side of trying to find solutions to keep ppl and the planet healthy, rather than using all resources to add to my bank account. (I am NOT a socialist: I like the idea of free markets)

"I can't understand why people are afraid of new ideas, I am frightened by the old ones." - John Cage

Of course, Glenn Gould and John Cage were fascinated by one another.

And Glenn Gould is Canadian, and never gave up his homeland.

Waterfronts should connect us to nature, not traffic. Prioritizing walking and cycling keeps these spaces vibrant and accessible while protecting water, our most precious resource, from pollution caused by cars and their infrastructure.
