Sheepishly
Fun fact: In the Primary, Katie Wilson's vote share increased 4.54% from Election Day (when they counted about 50% of ballots) to the final count.

In the General, her share has increased 4.51% from Wednesday's drop (when they counted just about 50% of ballots) to now.

Amazingly consistent.

The online reporting thing is just updated but only showing 279,044 ballots. They posted here 286,731 ballots. Pretty big difference given the margins we're looking at so which one is right, my spreadsheet needs to know. Any insight @ronpdavis.bsky.social @guyoron.net ?

Anyone know why this graph shows 286,731 ballots while the their data visualization thing shows 278,906?

Hey @elections.kingcounty.gov you sent me an email saying you received my ballot, but you listed a totally different name in that email. Text says you got ot, online tracker with my info says no. How can I tell if you got mine or not?

Funny thst Danny Westneat gave a column to Tim Ceis to pre-spin his clients that they didn’t waste money on Harrell, actually he’s gonna lose because of Trump & tech CEOs. Not cause of Harrell & Ceis & that lot at all.

The switch that flipped in Seattle politics
The sight of unimaginable Big Tech wealth at the gates of American democracy shook Seattle politics. The mayor, among others, may not survive the quake.

Amazing campaign email content that definitely wasn't written by AI — Sara Nelson "can think outside the box because she knows the box."

It also remains interesting (if a bit predictable) that Harrell's entire pitch against Wilson seems to be that Seattle can't accomplish big things and must accept the inadequate status quo.

I’ve flipped. I’m now in favor of Rob Saka using AI on his newsletters because it’s better than when he just improvises bullshit like this : www.theburnerseattle.com/post/council...

As rumored, Debora Juarez applied for D5 vacancy. Probably would be best case scenario with this council.

Love love love that the ST Ed Board is *still* campaigning to lower ethics standards and insisting it's a "reasonable reform". They should read THEIR OWN EDITORIAL FROM 2016 where they took the opposite position on the same policy:

No need to water down ethics code for Seattle City Council
Seattle should keep a bright-line rule separating council business from the personal interests of council members.

Hey @uniteherelocal8.bsky.social , is this an *unpaid* internship you're shopping here? Wondering how you feel about when restaurants do unpaid "staging" internships, because this seems similar, and both seem bad!

The funny thing about appointing Patience Malaba to the D5 seat (which @ericacbarnett.bsky.social as a possibility) is that she has been a key part of Cathy Moore's unfinished push to repeal tenant protections. So she could carry out Moore's unfinished work of making it easier to evict people.

Amazingly apt — a statement of support for Cathy Moore which itself has a conflict of interest!

Chef’s kiss, no notes
From what I have been told, Moore is demoralized and doesn't feel like she signed up for a job where she gets yelled at and criticized regularly by the public.

NEW: Seattle City Councilmember Cathy Moore is withdrawing her bill to lower ethical standards for council members by allowing them to vote when they have a financial conflict of interest, saying it's "clear that we require more time to ensure we get this right."
