New passageway at Portland Art Museum!
My opa was a preeminent Rembrandt art historian—in Den Haag & Groningen—but we all spent a lot of time in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam—it has a BIG bikeway, but this little guy has a similar vibe.

Please give if you can - between Trump and Drazan, the GOP is doing everything they can to dismantle transportation funding for anything but highways in Oregon.

The Street Trust REALLY needs your support in this end of year giving campaign.

Here to admit that it’s easier to tote the Shift bike racks with my big trailer vs my Big Dummy.
Hope to see you all (and your bike locked up to one of these racks) at @thestreettrust.org Alice Awards tmw night 🎉
I started with racks on both sides of the bike, but that only lasted a few blocks 😬

Chainring grease tattoos on the inside of your right leg are cool, but typical. Loading up to bag-and-drag™️ gave me these beauts. ⛓️🖼️

Mere minutes into our visit to Los Angeles: bikes!
Detrained the Amtrak Coast Starlight and grabbed the Blue Line only to have 20 BMX bikes board at the next stop 😍
Appreciate the unintentional warm welcome, 41 Thursday!

A four-bike day merits documentation:
1. Trailer bike for a work errand (hot bike-on-bike action)
2. Single speed to the gym (and post-gym burritos)
3. Bullitt bakfiets to fetch a sick kid
4. My bb og mamabike for groceries

I’m phoning it in for #30daysofbiking yet again. It was another day I didn’t get out all day so I took a nighttime spin around the neighborhood (third day doing this). I’m going to run out of well-lit photo spots at the neighborhood market.

Oh hey, happy #30daysofbiking! I’m already behind—I forgot to Strava 1.2 miles this morning to the orthodontist and back (there with a kid, back without since the bus was better for the trek to school) so manual math it is! Just like the old days.
And my pink portrait wall is now white, sigh.

Brompton fits perfectly in a little CVS shopping cart 💅

Raced my brother to Venice Beach and back and won!
💪
This is the Santa Monica workout: rent heavy clunky beach cruiser, add heavy clunky tag-along, add spirited nephew, don’t raise or tighten loose saddle, and goooooooooo!

Brompton on the move! Bus -> Amtrak -> light rail -> plane -> bus -> 🌴 A little more convoluted than necessary with a kid drop-off in Seattle, but every leg was an adventure despite very few pedal strokes so far, and now it’s family time!

Someday (but not today!) I’ll let my Romanceür make friends w/o butting in” Eh. My beloved Straggler was stolen & this is the 3rd bike I’ve tried to replace it with. Doesn’t carry as much. But hey, my dog died (don’t worry: she was old and had a good run!) so now I can use the front basket for gear”

Car-free mom taxi kiddo pickup 🚲🚲. It’s hard to tell via phone pic, but there are idling parent cars as far as the eye can see out on the street. But there’s also one other student bike at the racks 😊

30 seconds after I took this snap my bike fell off the hook 😬
It hung on fine for its other two MAX rides & its FX (bendy bus with interior racks) ride so I’m not sure what happened. The strap is blocking the view of the hook, but I don’t think I mis-hung it. Feel free to diagnose in the comments.

Every bike is a grocery bike…though this particular grocery bike means I’ve got tortillas tucked inside my sweatshirt and produce riding in my rain jacket hood.

TIL when dudes shout “Nice rig!” and “I like that set-up!” you know they’re talking about the cargo bike, but when they yell “Nice bike!” there’s a chance they’re referencing one of the lil bikes.
4th pic is my modified left turn in the ONEMART parking lot to prevent my trailing wheels from tangling

🖐️ Any other IKEA bag fans out there? So affordable and good-enough for keeping precious cargo dry. In the bags the way to work: portable speaker, projector, laptop; and on the way home: enormous pizza.

First time using a pannier on this bike! (Which I’m borrowing from my kiddo and originally got from @mujozen.bsky.social ). My quiet roads are slushy and slippery so I mostly took the arterials I’d otherwise avoid.

I biked Pixie’s 🐶🌈 pet ramp to work to donate it to Secondhand Pet Supply and they can sell it to a new old little pup.
This is only the second time I’ve daisy-chained my two Xtracycle Utility Belt extender cargo straps to hold something so big.

This is me and one of my absolute favorite people, Marley Blonsky! She cofounded a nonprofit called All Bodies on Bikes and starred in a film of that same name. I’m so excited that Portland is launching a local ABOB chapter!!!
