Do you fly commercial drones? Tired of being expected to be professional while dealing with companies that contract you out with unprofessional wages? Let's figure out how to fix this.

This is a test of the Fed Up Drone Pilot organization. Obviously we could turn this into a massive gripe fest but I'm more interested in finding solutions, tips and sound advice on dealing with people who think UAS pilots are playing with toys.
I'm not an RC guy but I certainly am amazed by the community and the stuff they come up with. One of my go to drone publications had this story. Fabrication brilliance! hackaday.com/2025/12/17/b...
Building A Flying Blended Wing Body Aircraft Prototype
Anyone with an inkling of interest in super-sized remote control aircraft probably has at least seen some of the mind-blowing projects that [Ramy RC] has worked on over the years, with examples lik…

I got this AI written invite with a pretty girl avatar as the POC (typical) for a telecom job that pays $240 per tower. There were a bunch of other requirements and I guess they didn't bother checking their records to see I used to contract with them and why I left. My no soldier language reply:

I've never encountered this. We see Sol approx. 25min after sunrise in the east. Next frame shows light rays on the opposite/west horizon a few seconds later. Is this light refraction or reflection?

M4 mapping in temps just above operational spec.

Maybe we should have an opportunity to field test equipment before some quid-pro-quo business model tells us we can use. bsky.app/profile/forb...
China makes 70% of the world’s drones. Blake Resnick wants to change that. Backed by Sam Altman and Peter Thiel, the Brinc founder is on his way to making his quadcopters the top choice for America’s cops—if only he can get the federal government to ban his primary competitor.

Ever fly in Kp4?

What's a good app for this? Familiar with but any others? www.uavforecast.com

Drone pilots need representation. We abide by the same regs as manned aircraft pilots but because most of us are contractors, not working for a company perse', we cannot self-unionize.

Talk about underpaid/valued. This industry is rife.
Why do you appreciate unions?

I’ll start:

Weekends off
Paid vacations
Work breaks
Sick leave
Paid holidays
No child labor
Safer working conditions
Health care and retirement benefits

This weeks gripe is about software that is sometimes too stupid to be used for flight. In these cases I treat the use case as generic but the inspiration is RL.

1. Execute saved route type "a-1".
2. Queue saved route type "a-2".
3. Execute saved route type "b-1".

Expected: "2-3" execute after "1".

I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

On some mapping jobs with Drone Deploy the reconstruction of corridors shows imagery has been stretched and appears "flat" when observed in 2D mode.

This is seems to be a bug possibly caused after the corridor is flown and the UAS is returning home (still flying AI).
