Russian sabotage in the Baltic is just part of a Russian campaign (acts of war mind you) across Europe. So far the European response (and that includes the UK--this is not an EU alone failing) has been pathetic. Europe is not rising to the occasion. foreignpolicy.com/2024/12/04/r...

All the actions in the Middle East clearly tell us where the world is heading.
Russians have shown us that nothing except the pure power of violence matters. No international treaties or deep concerns are able to fight violence.

It's very funny that we got 30,000 breathless op-eds about how supporting Ukraine risked over-stretching the decadent West, but it's Moscow and Tehran who have to tell Assad that the only support they can spare him is thoughts and prayers - and not many of either.
