Update, I had another dentist appointment and they changed my name in their system BACK to my dead name after they charged my insurance correctly. So that’s fun.
I do not understand why they are doing this but it’s kind of wild.

Insurance called me and said that my dentist refuses to bill under my new name, so they're not paying. This is so funny. 10/10.
