A rant, but I despise the phrase “I could do that” in relation to art - often when it comes to modern/postmodern art.
Aside from it being rude it’s also a non-criticism. If you could do it then you otherwise would’ve done it - virtually nothing is stopping you from replicating a work of art.

Sometimes we need to have this conversation on how we approach art:
Do we see art as something that needs to appeal to as many people as possible, breaks metrics, like content?
Because I believe art should be raw, intimate, pure, & resonant to both the artist and the audience.

Recently watched the “Titan” documentary on the OceanGate sub, which more focused on the corporate side instead of the tragedy itself - a side that I didn’t know of as much.
Watching it felt like seeing a tale of hubris slowly unraveling towards its inevitable conclusion.
