Genomics meets exposomics: historic meeting ushers in a new age of human health discovery
This past week, 35 investigators from the fields of genomics and exposomics convened at the Mendel Museum, on the site where in the 1800s, Gregor Mendel conducted experiments in present-day Brno, Czec...

In 2014, NEXUS co-director Gary Miller met with Sir John Gurdon, who won the Nobel Prize in 2012. He told Dr. Miller the story of his near-tragic hike in the Grand Canyon while a postdoc at Caltech. He said, "I thought I was going to die." Fortunately for science, he lived another 65+ years.

Dr. Christopher Wild coined the word Exposome 20 years ago. I asked him to give a personal account of its history for the journal Exposome. He did not disappoint. This is a must-read. @nexus-exposomics.bsky.social

The paper "The Human Genome Project: lessons from large-scale biology" has been my inspiration and blueprint for the field of exposomics. #AAASmtg I had the honor of sharing the stage with Ari Patrinos, the HGP lead at DOE. "After the Genome: what comes next and are we ready?"

Your environment affects how well your medications work − identifying exactly how could make medicine better
Your physical environment, social life and lifestyle have as much an influence on your biology − and hence, how you process drugs − as your genes.
