Genomics meets exposomics at the Mendel Museum in Brno, Czechia where Gregor Mendel did his pioneering work on genetics. Mind boggling discussions about the complexity of G x E interactions.

In 2014, NEXUS co-director Gary Miller met with Sir John Gurdon, who won the Nobel Prize in 2012. He told Dr. Miller the story of his near-tragic hike in the Grand Canyon while a postdoc at Caltech. He said, "I thought I was going to die." Fortunately for science, he lived another 65+ years.

A systematic and comprehensive analysis of the environmental drivers of health and disease will complement the major advances in genomics. That is what exposomics is about.

The paper "The Human Genome Project: lessons from large-scale biology" has been my inspiration and blueprint for the field of exposomics. #AAASmtg I had the honor of sharing the stage with Ari Patrinos, the HGP lead at DOE. "After the Genome: what comes next and are we ready?"
