The situation remains fluid, but our plan is to stay on schedule from here on out. People who receive SNAP benefits should check their cards. If there are funds available, they should use their cards as they normally would.

I'm grateful for the quick work and dedication of our team.

People here receive their benefits on the same date each month, between the 1st and the 20th. So far, we have delivered nearly $115 million, which is where we should be for this point in the month. We have approximately $48.5 million to send out between tomorrow and November 20th.

It is breathtaking that the Trump Administration has fought so hard to keep food from hungry families.

However, here in Washington state, we've caught up on the SNAP benefits that were delayed due to the shutdown. We're now delivering full benefits.

Eight Democrats just bent the knee to Trump, risking millions of Americans’ healthcare. This is a bad deal and Democrats need to be willing to fight and stand up to this authoritarian regime, no matter how painful that may be.

One thing I remember from the early 80s was the generic foods aisle. (Where I shopped.) White boxes marked "macaroni and cheese" and cans marked "chili" and "beer." (Mac and cheese? 25 cents, or about 80 cents today.)
That recession, and the unemployment it brought, was brutal.
Wasn't there a point in the early 80's where unemployment in the US approached 10%? Some of my friends from that time have fond memories of unemployment checks, food stamps, and other not so fun things

It is easy for Senate Democrats to disabuse us of that assumption — they just have to publicly make the popular call for new leadership.

If you’ve got a Senate Democrat who is not calling for new leadership, they’re part of the problem.

We should no longer trust Senate Dems who decline to come out against the leadership that led us here. Until proven otherwise, we should assume they were in on the game to fool their own supporters.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

We deserve a Democratic Party that is willing to fight as hard as we are.

We need new leadership in this moment and to get there, we need a chorus of support for change. Tell your Democratic senators to call on Senator Schumer to step aside as Minority Leader. It’s time for drastic action.
