DHS under Noem is an empathy free zone. Block Club quoted one detainee as saying, “They treated us like animals, or worse than animals, because no one treats their pets like that.”
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

"Mamdani didn’t just win an election. No y’all, he breached a centuries-old fortress of white political power and provoked an entire system’s immune response." -- Dr. Stacey Patton

Powerful words from Dr. Stacey Patton on the Massey family's response to the 2nd degree murder conviction of Sean Grayson, who could get 20 years -- or probation -- for killing Sonya Massey. bit.ly/47z2L2Z
“I Can’t Wait Until He Goes to Hell.”
After the verdict, Sonya Massey's family showed up at the press conference to rebuke the system, just like their daughter did before a cop shot her in the face.

I've seen calls lately for antifa to start talking more about what we support and propose and less on what we hate and oppose. Sure. For me, a multi-racial, welcoming, pluralistic, free, dramatically less hierarchical, equitable, sustainable society would be cool. DEI, in other words.

Many of MAGA commenters confidently assert we don't have a king. What we do have is an elected leader who thinks there are no earthly limits on his power. King is just shorthand for immunity + impunity.
Q: What did you mean when you said you're prepared to send 'more than the National Guard' into American cities?

TRUMP: if I want to enact a certain act, I'd be allowed to do whatever I want. The courts wouldn't get involved. Nobody would. I could send Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines -anybody I want

Law & order quote of the day:

“Well, I don’t think we’re gonna necessarily ask for a declaration of war, I think we’re just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. OK? We’re going to kill them. You know? They’re going to be, like dead. OK?”

"They’re not peacemakers. They’re landlords of EMPIRE, evicting the oppressed and rezoning blood and rubble for profit." -- Dr. Stacy Patton

They = Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. The whole Gaza "war" is genocide as a tool of gentrification.

Ceasefire in Gaza is a good thing, but whether it's really and end to genocide is an open question. Trump is distancing himself from his plan to dislocate the population and build a resort there, but he distanced himself from Project 2025, too. Until he didn't. www.newsweek.com/donald-trump...

The people who want violent protests to happen are Trump, Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, Tom Homan, and other senior appointees in his admin. They are doing everything they possibly can to provoke people to violence and it is obvious that is what they hope for daily.

Axios is still doing the both sides thing that has long been the method the media uses to erect a veneer of impartiality. In this case, the newsletter editor gives the Trump administration the last word and neglects to provide context. That gives the statement implied credibility it doesn't have.
