Hugs to all the survivors of narcissist or like parents, who get to watch as someone like their abuser is rewarded and celebrated. I didn't admit how hard T's presidency was because of this until he lost last time, & frankly am still processing that. Now this? I have no words.

In 2019, just 16.7% of rural India had access to tap water. By 2026, over 80%. That's 125 million rural households connected to clean, running water in just seven years. The biggest, fastest sanitation drive in human history. Headline news?

AOC: We are going to have to reckon, as a country, with this time. And I hope that that reckoning includes prosecution of people who are involved with the lawbreaking and human rights violations they are knowingly engaging in right now.

Holy shit, y'all. Read this article for an amazing caregiver-centric initiative started in Bogota.
What happens when a city takes women’s unpaid work seriously? Since 2020 Bogotá has done just that, opening 25 neighbourhood hubs where caregivers can drop off children, do the laundry, and use free legal aid. The successful model is now spreading internationally.

I'm seeing more and more references to AI from everyday people. From using AI to take meeting notes, to ppl in local community FB group, people in medical support group, and now this
Neurodivergent individuals find AI tools life-changing for communication
For people with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, communicating in the workplace and classroom can be a challenge, but AI is proving to be a game-changer.

Anytime I see white people and their company is centered around "family safety and security", they're always coded as conservative to me. Like home security systems, parental controls, etc. It fits their whole moral panic theme. A lot of conservatives are making money off making white people scared.

This is a fascinating story. ICE tried to buy a warehouse in VA from a Canadian company, to turn into a detention center. One of the company’s advertising partners basically told them that if they sold, they could kiss their ads goodbye.

It’s incredible helpful to discuss the economic blockade happening in Minneapolis right now—ABC reports that some parts of the city have 80% less business activity. We’re in a state of crisis. Give Dara’s piece a read:
Greetings from inside the economic blockade zones of Minneapolis and St Paul! Don’t look away, please. We need you. It’s been a month and they’re trying to destroy us.

A manual for ICE's immigrant-targeting computer system, Palantir ELITE, was leaked today.

Let's look at it, then step back to evaluate how far we've come along a dangerous road and where that road might take us. 🧵
Here is the User Guide for ELITE, the Tool Palantir Made for ICE
404 Media is publishing a version of the user guide for ELITE, which lets ICE bring up dossiers on individual people and provides a “confidence score” of their address.

Wonderful Ice Age art!

Some 40,000 years ago, this tiny head of a cave lion was skilfully sculpted from mammoth ivory. It is one of the oldest known works of figurative art!
