One of the things us “Bluesky Elders” have learned from our year & a half here is that this experience is what you make of it. Block trolls, don’t quote drag, mute jerks, mute topics that make you angry or sad, just go all in on self-moderation and this place can be so fucking chill. It’s worth it.

I’m rereading Stephen King this year, and my current book is The Tommyknockers. I remembered it as not being one of his best, and I think I still classify it as that. Premise? Amazing. Execution? Ehhhm.

Oh well, with the size of his oeuvre you can’t win them all I guess.

I used to share book recommendations on the other place but got out of the habit this year as engagement massively dropped off. Thinking about putting together my top 10 list for this year though, so as a test, like this, and for each like I'll recommend something great I read in the past 5 years

2025 is looking to be an interesting year:

1 near future sci-fi at the publisher with a publishing date early 2025

1 horror novella in the works with a publishing date in 2025

1 anthology at the publisher, possible publishing date 2025, or 2026
