If the Democratic Party doesn’t do more to resist Trump, we will get destroyed, and we will deserve it.
Occam’s Razor strongly suggested that anything bad about Trump in the Epstein files would have come out years ago. Hoo boy. I can only assume that everyone was so afraid of gored oxes that no one on either side wanted to touch it—until Trump’s people made it an issue that couldn’t be ignored.

It seems like every time I respond to people on this site (rather than just doomscrolling), there is an uptick in follows from accounts pretending to be, um, “single women looking for companionship,” shall we say. How does one prevent follows from bot accounts, assuming these are bot accounts.

I have voted in just about every Dem. primary since 1994. In Texas, that’s the closest you can get to being a registered Democrat. 30 years. I won’t spend another dime or single minute of my life supporting or defending these spineless lickspittles and incompetents.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...

Impeach and convict the President and court martial everyone involved in this man’s murder.
It certainly appears the United States murdered an innocent fisherman who was a husband and father to four children, claimed he was a "narco-terrorist," posted a video of the execution, and then made jokes about it

Murphy: "The second remedy is for the Dem Party to make clear that if you give us power, we're gonna break up these media monopolies... if we want to be credible as a critic of Trump's slide to totalitarianism, we have to explain how we're gonna put local communities back in charge of their news."

The next Democratic Administration, if there is one, needs to break up media conglomerates on anti-trust grounds.

My 2028 primary vote is for sale. The highest bidder is the Democrat who can convince me they aren't just going to return to normalcy but are going to actually going to hold these people accountable.

Charlie Kirk said things that were so vile and offensive that people are getting fired for quoting him accurately.

In light of the news on my first day of sabbatical: gender is a social construct, trans women are women, no amount of complying with authoritarians who pretend they will only strip some people but not you of rights will keep you safe. And in 2025 university administrators should know all of that.

I can’t stress enough:

(1) I am the “Normie” Dem to whom leadership is supposedly tailoring their messaging.
(2) I hate everything about what leadership is doing right now.
(3) They’ve completely lost their way. I don’t know what the party stands for any more.

"dogmatic"

I suppose my position on trans rights is "dogmatic," because it flows from my "dogmatic" belief in individual rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, self-determination, bodily autonomy, and equal protection under the law.

I guess NYTimes doesn't believe in that "dogma."
No, New York Times. That's not what trans people are saying.

Trump’s Ft. Liberty (Bragg) rally with active duty army troops is Exhibit A in the case for arguing that the United States Army (and perhaps the military in general) is a danger to the Republic.

Listening to a presentation from a jury consultant for corporate defendants for my continuing education requirements.

“We’ve found that potential jurors who list Bluesky as their social media platform of choice are REALLY bad for us. Not sure why. It may be a political thing.”

Pritz for Prez.
Damn, Gov. Pritzker’s throwing hands at the gutless Democrats trying to abandon immigration or the trans community. Good for him.

Indivisible leadership held two emergency meetings today: one with New York group leaders, and another for leaders nationwide.

82% of group leaders in New York and 91% of Indivisible group leaders nationwide voted to call for Schumer to step aside as Senate Minority Leader.

Astonishing clarity.

As long as these folks are still saying they wouldn’t have changed their vote, I have very little sympathy for them. Now the lies are laid bare and they would still have voted for all of this IN SPITE OF what they know now.
with an electorate like this...

I’ll keep saying it. I’ve worked in and with the Democratic Party for 30 years. Precinct captain. Deputy county chair. I’ve canvassed for many Democratic candidates. In the past, I’ve defended leadership from what I considered griping. Now: Fuck Chuck Schumer. Primary them all. Burn it all down.

Time to spam every Democratic federal official with Letter from a Birmingham Jail. They are the white moderates who obstruct progress, who prefer a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.

Privatizing government services never leads to more or better services. It’s almost invariably less service for more money. Yet another zombie conservative economic theory that refuses to die no matter how many times it’s proven wrong.
Bessent downplays DOGE's mass government firings, saying "we're gonna re-privatize this economy like President Trump promised."
