My absolute favorite thing about gnarly, hard-to-fit thumbbreakers of a bike tire are when you finally get it on and realize they’re directional… in the other direction.

Enjoyed watching "You Don't Know Git" by @ethomson.bsky.social from #NDCLondon2025 who I was very lucky to meet on route to Techorama BE in 2019 (oh so long ago)

However does Ed know about the amazing things @mrpowershell.bsky.social's ugit #PowerShell module can do

What’s an example of a developer tool with “great taste”? And why? What does that phrase mean to you?

I’m sorry that I can’t make it this year, but you should. It was *outstanding* last year.
i should stop being bent out of shape for a minute and encourage you to come to my conference in London March 27th/28th. It's about sustaining software craft in uncertain times. expect interesting OSS maintainer talks, personal journeys and a pragmatic take on AI.

Support the open source projects you love this Valentine’s Day
You can help provide much-needed support to the critical but often underfunded projects that keep your infrastructure running smoothly.

send a few chocolates to your favorite OSS maintainer today (as a one-off sponsoring, or some flowers in a post or DM). you've no idea how much they'll appreciate you thinking about them

OSS maintainers: don’t sleep on your Copilot Pro subscription; I got mine through @libgit2.bsky.social
All that to say, if you or your kid are in school, or you're a teacher, you should apply.

If you are the maintainer of a popular repo, you can also get GitHub Copilot Pro for free. I get mine through dbatools 🚀

Nostalgia driven development; I finally got around to building my Cray Y-MP themed @raspberrypi.com case. Next step: Cray emulator and UNICOS install.

Who’s at #NDCLondon this week and wants to talk about security and privacy with AI models and generated code?

Let me buy you a coffee. (DMs open.) ☕️

When you use generative AI to write code, do you know how much local state you send in context? Are you concerned about sending PII to the models? If so, do you do something about it?
