Just a reminder that while some cities are still debating whether or not to transform a block or two of streets into places for people, this year Montreal transformed 11 such streets across 7 neighbourhoods, equalling 9+kms, from car spaces to people places.

Just a reminder that while some cities are still debating whether or not to transform a block or two of streets into places for people, this year Montreal transformed 11 such streets across 7 neighbourhoods, equalling 9+kms, from car spaces to people places.

Given that the Ontario Liberal, NDP and Green Parties are WELL AWARE of the likelihood that splitting the vote would hand the Doug Ford Conservatives another comfortable majority govt with a small % of the vote, I’d think they would put aside ambitions AND WORK TOGETHER.

I’m going to say this again. I actively avoid calling people on bikes “cyclists.” It fuels an “othering” or “us vs them,” and makes it easier to claim that safe infrastructure is for a small in-group. None of which is helpful.
